The information we are presenting is provided so
you can make an informed decision when deciding to attend floral design
school. The following wage information is presented with the
following conditions based on the criteria of information gathered:
"The Survey is based on a volunteer response,
rather than a selected sample. This year 1,538 florists participated in
the survey". (Last year in 2002, the number participating was 1523)
"Although this system is not scientific, the Survey
results have tracked nicely with what is happening in the overall
economy and wage arena for the past 19 years".
"Shop size and population also have a direct
impact on wages. Generally, bigger shops pay bigger wages."
"The survey has been broken down by region, as well as,
the low, medium and high hourly salary amounts. The
low and high amounts are for reference only. You should focus on the
"Average Wages". Averages wages are shown in RED.
"In 51.2 percent of
this year,s shops, the owner/manager is on the payroll. The remaining
48.8 percent of the shops, the owner/managers take their compensation
from the profits of the business".

Average Shop Gross Sales - $340,943.00 (This number is higher than last year. "The industry average is $250,000.00.")
